Angola Week In India – Angola Cultural Event on 19TH November 2025

On November 19, 2025, the Embassy of the Republic of Angola in India hosted a distinguished cultural showcase at the ICCR Auditorium to celebrate the Golden Jubilee of Angola’s National Independence. While officially observed on November 11, this landmark 50th-anniversary celebration served as a vibrant testament to the enduring bonds between Angola and India. The evening featured an evocative display of Angolan identity, bridging the gap between ancestral traditions and modern expression.

The renowned cultural ensemble Semba Muxima, traveling directly from Angola, delivered a masterful performance of the nation’s rhythmic heritage. Talented students from the Angolan community in India contributed to the festivities, showcasing the vitality of the diaspora. The showcase encompassed traditional folkloric movements, urban Afrostyle dance, contemporary music, and soul-stirring poetry, reflecting the multifaceted nature of Angolan culture.

The event was attended by a high-level delegation of the diplomatic corps, including several Ambassadors and international representatives. Furthermore, the evening saw strong participation from the academic community, with students representing more than seven prominent universities across the Delhi NCR region.

This celebration not only honored five decades of sovereignty but also reinforced the spirit of “South-South” cooperation and mutual cultural appreciation between the two nations.
